We're excited to share with you more of the cities you can discover on your upcoming travels with the British Columbia DLC for American Truck Simulator. Missed out on the first part of this blog? You can check it out here!
Our team has been hard at work recreating locations across BC, Canada. From larger urban centres to more remote areas, each offers its own landscapes, industries, and way of life. Let us share with you more of what we've been working on for this DLC.
Cranbrook
Located in the East Kootenay region of BC, Cranbrook is a community with strong ties to the railway and the surrounding mountain landscape. The arrival of the railway played an important role in the city's development, helping establish this city as a major centre for the region.
You'll discover several recognizable landmarks that highlight the city's history, including the old train station and the Cranbrook History Centre, which today preserves an impressive collection of historic Canadian railcars. You'll also be able to spot the visitor centre. With its location among the mountains and forests, we hope you look forward to visiting this historical city.
Valemount
Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, Valemount is nestled within the North Thompson Valley, near the northern end of the Rocky Mountain Trench. With the Rockies, Cariboo Mountains, and Monashee Mountains all nearby, drivers can expect some impressive views.
On your visit, be sure to keep an eye out for the local visitor center, housed in a distinctive log building and surrounded by beautiful mountain views. Whether you're stopping by or simply continuing your journey north, the scenery around Valemount is sure to make the drive worthwhile.
Williams Lake
Situated in the heart of the Cariboo region, Williams Lake is an important regional centre surrounded by forests, rolling hills, and open countryside. The city has long served the surrounding communities and industries.
There is plenty to see here, including the city's distinctive Tourism Discovery Centre, alongside local hotels, restaurants, and the historic Station House Gallery. Built as a railway station in 1919, the Station House is the oldest standing building in Williams Lake and today serves as an art gallery and cultural space. Truckers will also find plenty of work around the city, with deliveries connected to a local sawmill, scrapyard, and construction equipment dealer.
Prince George
Prince George is one of the most important industrial and transportation centres in northern British Columbia. Sitting at the intersection of Highways 16 and 97 and connected to major rail routes, the city serves as a key hub for goods moving across the province and onward towards the Pacific Coast.
This important role is reflected throughout the city, where truckers will find a wide variety of industries to serve, including a paper mill, chemical factory, refinery, and a large intermodal transportation hub. Away from the industrial areas, keep an eye out for landmarks such as the local Royal Canadian Mounted Police station, St. Michael's Anglican Church, and the city's rail station.
Prince RupertΒ
Prince Rupert is a major port city with a long history connected to fishing, forestry, railway transportation, and shipping. Being located on the coast of the North Pacific Ocean has helped establish the city as an important gateway for international trade, with road and rail connections linking its port facilities to communities across Canada and beyond.
Truckers visiting Prince Rupert will find plenty of work waiting for them around its busy industrial and waterfront areas. You'll find job contracts to and from the harbour port, seafood facility & nearby timber harvesting operations.Β
There is plenty to see away from work too, including the local Royal Canadian Mounted Police station, courthouse, visitor center, lighthouse, and the Museum of Northern British Columbia, which showcases the rich history, art, and culture of British Columbia's Northwest Coast.
Vernon
Located in the North Okanagan, agriculture has long played an important role in the local economy of Vernon, alongside a diverse mix of manufacturing, tourism, forestry, and other industries. Drivers will be able to make deliveries to an agricultural equipment dealer, landscape supply company, yacht builder, RV dealer, and a beverage plant.Β
While travelling through Vernon, you'll also be able to find several local landmarks, including the hospital complex, Okanagan Science Centre, and the distinctive Telecommunications Tower Building.Β
Bella Coola
At the western end of Highway 20 lies Bella Coola, a remote community surrounded by the spectacular wilderness of British Columbia's Central Coast. The journey into the Bella Coola Valley takes drivers through a landscape of mountains, dense forests, and dramatic scenery, making this part of the province quite different from many of the other destinations you'll discover.
In Bella Coola, you'll find landmarks such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police station and The Augsburg United Church. Whether Bella Coola marks the end of a long delivery or the beginning of your journey back through the valley, we hope you'll take some time to enjoy this unique corner of British Columbia.
We look forward to sharing even more from the British Columbia DLC with you in the future. Until then, be sure to add British Columbia to your Steam Wishlist and follow us on X, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, and TikTok, or subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news & previews.Β Until next time, keep on truckin'!

Steam Cooking Fest is just begging for us to use cooking puns, but we're way too mature for that.
(Except for our headline here. OK and also our trailer.) The rest of this post, though? Pun-free!
Are there cooking games of all kinds on sale for the week? Definitely. Run a restaurant, operate a food truck, cook for giant onions and rats and all kinds of things!
Join us now for Steam Cooking Fest, on through October 19th at 10 am Pacific on Steam.
We are excited to announce that SCS Software will be heading toΒ PoznaΕ Game ArenaΒ 2026, taking place from 23rd to 25th October in PoznaΕ, Poland!
If you're attending this year's event, be sure to stop by and visit us in Hall 5, Booth 56, where we'll be bringing a selection of our latest projects, immersive experiences, plenty of opportunities to get behind the wheel, and a chance to meet and chat with our team.
For American Truck Simulator, you'll be able to explore the breathtaking landscapes of theΒ British Columbia DLCΒ by taking a virtual journey through Canada's westernmost province. Meanwhile, in Euro Truck Simulator 2, you'll discover the stunning landscapes of theΒ Iceland DLC, as well as experience the upcoming Coaches DLC and take a different kind of journey across Europe in a long-distance bus.
To make your experience even more immersive, we're once again bringing our 4D motion simulators to the show floor. If you've always wanted to experience the feeling of driving a truck with added motion effects, be sure to give it a try during your visit.
We're also happy to be partnering withΒ Logitech, which will be providing steering wheels and peripherals for our booth. Their hardware will help you get comfortable behind the wheel and experience our games with precision and control.
But that's not all! We're also delighted to be partnering withΒ Scania Poland, who will be bringing a real Scania truck directly to our booth.
This will give visitors the opportunity to get up close with a real Scania truck, with the cabin open for visitors to step inside and explore, while also experiencing our virtual trucking worlds just a few steps away. WithΒ Scania PolandΒ personnel on hand throughout the event, you'll be able to take a closer look at the truck and its interior before stepping into our games. It's a great chance to see how the details and atmosphere of real-world trucking inspire what we create in our games.
PoznaΕ Game Arena is one of the biggest gaming events in Poland, and we're looking forward to meeting the Polish trucking community and everyone who shares our passion for virtual trucking.

Itβs time to hit the road! Today, weβre excited to share a gameplay preview from the upcoming Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2, showcasing the Scania Touring as we take a journey through the stunning landscapes of northern Norway.
In this gameplay video, weβll be driving from Narvik to Andenes, giving you a closer look at what itβs like to be behind the wheel of a coach. But thereβs more to a successful journey than simply reaching your destination. With passengers on board, how you drive can make a real difference!
So sit back and join us for a journey in the Scania Touring and get a taste of what awaits in the upcoming Coaches DLC!
One of the features weβre showcasing is the G-force indicator, which helps translate your driving style into passenger satisfaction. Sharp turns and hard braking can create higher G-forces, and your passengers wonβt hesitate to let you know when youβve pushed things too far. If you exceed their comfort limits, you may hear some rather loud reactions from the back of the coach!
Passenger satisfaction will contribute to your overall results at the end of your journey, giving you another reason to keep your driving smooth and comfortable. Youβll also hear passengers talking and making noise throughout the trip, helping bring the coach experience to life as you travel along the roads.
Another feature weβre showcasing is the adjustable sun visor, giving you greater control over the amount of sunlight coming into the cabin and providing a more comfortable driving experience behind the wheel of any coach.

We launched Steam Frame last month, and with the reservation queues and waitlist in place we wanted to give folks a better idea of when they can expect to see an email with the option to purchase.
We're also releasing the CAD files today, and have a number of additional updates we've shipped since launch. You'll find details on all of that below.
Reservation updates and timing:
We opened up signups for Steam Frame on September 14th, and did a one-time randomization of that list on September 17th. Based on the order in which folks landed after that shuffle, we began fulfilling orders on September 18th.
If you have a reservation
You can now check on your expected order window by going directly to the Steam Frame product page while logged in to your Steam account. Once there, you'll see confirmation that you'll receive your order email either by December, or in 2027. Those in the 2027 camp will receive further (more detailed) information on their expected order timing by January.Β
For everyone receiving a purchase email: You must complete your purchase within 72 hours or we will move to the next person in line.Β
If you are on the waitlist
As we work our way through the reservation queues, we will let you know ifΒ spots open up there.Β Anyone interested in purchasing Steam Frame can still join the waitlist, and will be placed at the end in the order they join.
Please note that there are separate queues for each region, so there could be some regions pulling from the waitlist sooner than others. The Improved Material System continues to make its way across our truck line-up! With the upcoming 1.62 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 & American Truck Simulator, two more trucks will benefit from this upgrade, bringing further visual refinements to their interiors.
We hope you've been enjoying the Improved Material System and the refreshed look it brings to the interiors of our trucks! It has been great to see your reactions to these visual upgrades, and we would like to thank you for all of the comments, feedback & screenshots you have shared with us so far.
In the upcoming 1.62 update, our vehicle teams have expanded this visual improvement to the cabins of the Iveco S-Way in Euro Truck Simulator 2, and the All-New Volvo VNL in American Truck Simulator!
The improved material system significantly enhances the lighting and visual quality of vehicle interiors, with a particular focus on how different interior materials react to light. This results in a more detailed, readable, and visually pleasing cabin environment. It also makes the differences between materials such as leather, fabric, plastic, and metal much more apparent, even in low-light conditions.Β
As promised, we are gradually bringing this feature to more trucks, allowing you to enjoy beautiful cabin interiors across a wider range of vehicles. If you would like to learn more about what the process of implementing this feature on new vehicles looks like, make sure to check out our Under the Hood blog, where we spoke with colleagues working on the improved material system.
We hope you will be happy to see the improved cabin interiors in more trucks with this upcoming update! Remember to stay tuned for more news from our games by following us on our X, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and YouTube. We would also appreciate it if you could sign up for our newsletter, so you can be informed. Until next time, keep on trucking!

Today, we bring you news from the upcoming 1.62 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2. As part of this update, we will be introducing new truck garage models across the map!
We already gave the truck garages in American Truck Simulator a refresh with the 1.58 update, and now it is time to give them the same treatment in Euro Truck Simulator 2. As you know, we are gradually reworking older areas of the base map, with the Benelux rework being the latest addition, while the rework for United Kingdom is currently underway. Garages are an important part of the map as well, so after many years, we felt it was time to bring them up to date and better align them with the newer areas of the game.
With the release of 1.62, these new garage models will be introduced across the entire base map as well as all of the map DLCs. This means that wherever your journeys take you, you can look forward to seeing these refreshed garages along the way.
Garages are also an important part of the truck driving experience. They are not only where you store your trucks and manage your drivers, but also a reflection of your growing company. From the smaller garages to the larger ones, we wanted to make them feel like places you would be happy to return to as your business grows.
The new garages feature updated visuals both inside and out, with greater attention to detail throughout. Our goal was to make them feel more modern and immersive, which should make the process of upgrading your garage feel more rewarding.
Of course, we also had to keep performance in mind. Bringing these new garages to the game while keeping their performance cost in check compared to the older models created many years ago was no small task, but we hope to have found the right balance between improving visuals and not increasing the toll on performance.
With these changes, we hope the reworked garages will feel like a more natural and enjoyable part of your journeys. They are another step in bringing older parts of the game up to today's standards, and we look forward to continuing to refine the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 in future updates.
In one of our previous blogs, we gave you a closer look at the Quick Jobs and Contract Jobs you will be able to take on with Coaches when the DLC releases. But these won't be the only opportunities available to you. Today, we'd like to tell you more about Tourist Jobs!
Tourist Jobs will offer a different gameplay experience from Quick Jobs and Contract Jobs, as well as from the jobs you are used to doing with your truck. As the name suggests, you will step into the role of a bus driver, taking passengers who are enjoying their day off on trips from a bus station to an interesting landmark.
These destinations may include beautiful natural scenery, city centers where passengers can enjoy some sightseeing, or occasionally even industrial depots where they can take a guided tour. Of course, some of these destinations often have their own opening hours, and the arrival times take this into account.
Tourist Jobs are distinguished by whether the landmarks they visit are locally or globally known, which in turn determines the length of the journey. When you arrive at the final destination, you will be able to enjoy a scenic viewpoint accompanied by a short cutscene, giving you a taste of what your passengers came to see and providing even more incentive to discover these places for yourself.
Many of these viewpoints will also feature a short description of the location, allowing you to learn something new about the place you have just visited.
Once you have given your passengers some time to take in the sights, don't forget to bring them safely back home! Compared to Contract Jobs, Tourist Jobs offer a more leisurely schedule. This gives you more freedom to take your time, enjoy the scenery, and make the journey itself part of the experience.
Looking forward to being part of the journey and experiencing a new gameplay perspective when Coaches is released? Then don't forget to add the Coaches DLC to your Steam wishlist!Β

"Weβve had such a fun time exploring South Dakota together! Seeing Mount Rushmore was definitely a highlight, but we also loved discovering the quarries, landmarks, and quiet towns throughout the state. With a little research, you start to realize just how much history is represented across the map and how each place played a part in shaping South Dakota. We also got an early taste of the new Road Trip experience, which gave us an entirely new and fun way to explore the South Dakota map. South Dakota has been a great addition to ATS, and weβre excited to keep discovering more!"Β - Christian & Monique, BadMae

"South Dakota's the first state DLC in a while that actually made me slow down on purpose. The plains stretch forever, then you drop into the Badlands and it feels like someone switched planets, especially around golden hour.
Mount Rushmore is the obvious photo stop, but the real grin moments are in the smaller details: that quarry plonked weirdly in the middle of the Sioux Falls suburbs, the trailer plants in Watertown and Mitchell, and farm depots surrounded by actual shelterbelts dating back to the Dust Bowl era.
Deadwood still has that Wild West vibe, which I personally enjoy, and compared to some previous DLCs, South Dakota feels like it has several different personalities packed into one state. You keep getting those "wait, is that a real landmark?" moments along the way. That's probably what I like most about it. It feels more like a proper road trip."
TheHuskie
"What impressed me the most in South Dakota DLC is how much effort has clearly gone into making the state feel authentic and realistic. The scenery is incredibly detailed, and the variety between the wide-open Great Plains, the Badlands, and the Black Hills makes the experience feel very different depending on where you are driving.
I especially enjoy the Black Hills and the more winding roads there. They provide some really beautiful driving experiences and, from a content creatorβs perspective, give me a lot of opportunities to create cinematic shots. Mount Rushmore and the other landmarks also make exploring the map feel more rewarding, while the smaller towns and rural areas add a lot of character to the journeys."
We would like to thank you all for your continued support! Keep on sharing your journeys through the South Dakota DLC with us on our social media channels using the hashtag #CruisingSouthDakota and by tagging us on Social Media. Until next time, keep on truckin'!Β
